In my humble opinion, cardinal and gold thoughts on what I see, what I hear, and what I think from Los Angeles. Regardless: The new AP poll No. 5 USC Trojans (7-1 Pac-12, 10-1 overall) are in the middle of a two-game gauntlet with the Men of Troy having outscored and survived then No. 16 UCLA, 48-45, on Saturday night at the Rose Bowl, meaning Lincoln Riley’s football team has secured their spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game on Friday night, Dec. 2, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and let the celebration begin! But beware because here come the new No. 13 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Regardless – Part 2: Trojans’ head coach Lincoln Riley is learning on the job what it’s like to be in the middle of playing both UCLA and Notre Dame back-to-back every other year in Los Angeles. It is quite the challenge – as it began on Saturday night – by beating the crosstown rival Bruins, and then hoping you can get your team ready for next Saturday’s battle with the Irish in the Coliseum. There is no rest for the weary, but there is plenty of excitement.
