In this episode of Inside the Trojans’ Huddle, the WeAreSC panel discusses a fall camp position battle, looks at some potential under-the-radar players, USC’s first guys off the bus, future award winners, and plays Arledge’s Ten Questions.

USC fall camp position battle

The panel looks at right guard and a four-way battle emerging this fall. Who is involved, what does it mean and who eventually settles in as the starter?

Under the radar Trojans

Bear Alexander, Zachariah Branch, Miller Moss, Kamari Ramsey, Woody Marks, Jonah Monheim. USC has a good number of well-known players expected to contribute significantly as starters. The panel looks at some players maybe a little bit off the radar who could step up and contribute at some point this season.

First off the bus

Much has been made of USC’s physical gains up and down the roster this offseason. Lincoln Riley said they needed some first-off-the-bus players as they bulked up across both lines of scrimmage. So who are those guys now for this 2024 team? And are there any players who maybe don’t look the part but can surprise with their ability?

USC – Washington

Continuing the preview of USC’s top six games on the 2024 schedule, the panel looks at what stands out about the Trojans’ trip to Seattle in early November to face off against the Huskies.

Future award winners

It’s Watch List season. Are there any players on this roster who could win any of college football’s major individual awards this season or down the line?

Arledge’s Ten Questions

  1. What are the reasonable expectations for the defense in the opener in terms of yards and points allowed?
  2. What should the point spread be for the LSU game?
  3. If you were forced to pick an alternative uniform for USC this season, what would you pick?
  4. Make a position change for one player on this USC roster.
  5. Who has the best argument for joining the Blue Blood Club in college football: Clemson, Miami, Florida, Penn State, LSU, or Georgia?
  6. What fictional character best epitomizes UCLA football?
  7. I like to hate Notre Dame football coaches.  Lou Holtz, Charlie Weis, Brian Kelly – all easy to hate.  Marcus Freeman doesn’t seem hateable enough yet.  Why is that?  Or have I just gone soft?
  8. What media darling is going to have a terrible year in 2024?
  9. Does Jim Harbaugh’s show-cause penalty stop him from having sleepovers at players’ houses or is there an exception for those activities?
  10. You can bring one player back from any USC team for the LSU game. Who do you pick?
