Kade Eldridge includes USC among top five schools
USC landed in a top group for an intriguing athlete on Wednesday as athlete Kade Eldridge announced his top five schools with the Trojans represented.
USC joined Michigan, Oregon, Washington and Washington State as final schools for the 6-foot-4, 235-pound athlete from Lynden (Wash.) Christian.
Eldridge took spring trips to all five of his top schools this spring. The visit to USC took place in mid-April.
The jumbo athlete stars on both sides of the ball in high school but is being targetted by most schools as a tight end. Last season, he was used mostly on offense as a big back out of the pistol. In 10 games, he caught just eight passes but recorded 794 offensive yards and averaged 8.3 yards per carry. He scored 11 touchdowns.
On defense, Eldridge had 62.5 tackles, inclduing 15 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
Eldridge and USC
The Trojans have done some quick work in this race. His offer from USC came in late March and the two sides quickly set up that April visit. That trip made a strong enough impression that Eldridge already scheduled an official visit to USC. Eldridge will visit during the June 16 weekend, which is shaping up to be an absolutely massive recruiting weekend for the Trojans.
The Trojans are after a few tight ends in the 2023 class. The most notable is five-star Duce Robinson, the nation’s No. 17 overall prospect. USC holds a massive lead in the RPM for the 6-foot-6, 230-pound prospect.
USC is also after four-star in-state prospect Walker Lyons. But he just received a prediction to Stanford from On3 Director of Recruiting, Chad Simmons.

Eldridge’s ability as a running back and demeanor as a defensive lineman would seem to make him pretty uniquely qualified to fill the H-back role that USC head coach Lincoln Riley loves to employ. The Trojans will have their hands full in pulling Eldridge out of the Pacific Northwest, however. Oregon was a “dream school” for him growing up, and the hometown Huskies are recruiting him hard as well.
USC’s 2023 Recruiting Class
USC’s 2023 recruiting class is currently the No. 2 class in the nation.
It’s led by Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Malachi Nelson, along with five-star wide receiver Zach Branch, and four-star wideout Makai Lemon.
The Texas running back tandem of Quinten Joyner and A’Marion Peterson joined the class this spring. Both are four-star prospects.
On the defensive side, four-star cornerback Braxton Myers announced his commitment to USC earlier this week. And three-star safety Christian Pierce is a big-hitting local addition to the class.
