Lincoln Riley on where defensive improvement for USC will come from in 2023

If you're a USC fan and have posted to social media or a message board sometime in the past month, there's a pretty good chance you've either taken a shot at defensive coordinator Alex Grinch or called outright for his firing. It's been a level of noise and unity that Trojan fans typically save for the chorus of Tusk. But as of today, USC head coach Lincoln Riley has no plans to make a chance at defensive coordinator. In fact, his faith in Grinch to get it done on that side of the ball seems stronger than ever. And for USC fans who see this as a guarantee the Trojans will fail to find success in 2023, Riley laid out the reasons why bringing Grinch back could, in part, have the USC defense taking big strides forward this fall.
