Lincoln Riley Provides Injury Updates on Several USC Trojans
The USC Trojans lost major contributors on both sides of the ball against Utah two weeks ago when wide receiver Jordan Addison and then linebacker Eric Gentry were sent to the sideline with injuries.
The bye week came at a very good time for the Trojans after their tough, physical game against the Utes. But it remains to be seen if the week off was enough time to get everybody back onto the field.
Thursday morning, Riley was asked about Addison, Gentry and linebacker Ralen Goforth and whether they will be available on Saturday against Arizona.
“We hope to,” Riley said. “The bye week has certainly been helpful for all those guys.”
Riley considered all three of those players “limited” this week.
“They haven’t been full participants, but not anybody that I would want to say a definite no or yes on right now,” Riley said. “Fully plan on them traveling, being there, and probably something that comes down to the wire in terms of a decision on the three of those guys.”
If neither Addison nor Gentry can go, USC has already seen a bit from potential replacements. Michael Jackson III caught his first pass of the season against Utah. He took it 20 yards for an important touchdown late in that game. Tuasivi Nomura came in for Gentry and produced the hit of the game with a third-down stop at the goal line on Utah’s eventual game-winning drive. Though obviously, USC would rather have available its leading receiver and tackler for this game.

But this is a portion of the schedule where the Trojans might be able to get away with not having all hands on deck. USC follows the road trip to Tucson this weekend with home games against Cal and Colorado. The season wraps up in a big way with key rivalry games at UCLA and against Notre Dame.
More Health Updates from Riley
The only player Riley committed to not having available on Saturday is cornerback Domani Jackson.
Jackson played limited special teams snaps against Washington State three weeks ago. He then was not on the trip to Utah. Riley said there was “nothing serious” but that Jackson would not be available for the Trojans against the Wildcats.
Riley does believe that rush end Korey Foreman will be available. He said Foreman has had “a couple of nagging things that have made him slightly limited” of late. But added that the coaches expect to have him available for the game on Saturday.
