USC – Oregon Pregame
* It looks as though USC will be without several defensive starters in this game. Safety Jaylin Smith and linebacker Eric Gentry did not go through early warmups with their position groups.
* Also seemingly missing for the Trojans tonight:
Cornerback Jacobe Covington, who hasn’t played since suffering an injury against Arizona. Wide receiver/running back Raleek Brown, who played against Washington for the first time since the season-opener. And cornerback Ceyair Wright, who has not played since the game against Arizona, does not appear to be in attendance.
* True freshman wide receiver Makai Lemon is warming up with the cornerbacks.
* Oregon introduces a couple of ghosts from USC past ahead of this one. Running back Kenjon Barner and linebacker Casey Matthews get big ovations from the Autzen crowd. Barner rushed for 321 yards and five touchdowns against USC in 2012. The 321 rushing yards is a record for a USC opponent against the Trojans. Matthews, of course, is the brother of former USC standout linebacker Clay Matthews III and son of former Trojans’ linebacker Clay Matthews II.
First Quarter
* USC will receive the opening kick from Oregon.
* A run for zero yards, a personal foul penalty against Oregon and then USC has to take a timeout. It’s loud here early with the Ducks on defense.
* USC center Justin Dedich goes down with an injury. He walks off the field but it looks like trainers are looking at his left arm. Kilian O’Connor goes in and is called for a hold on the first play. Oregon sacks Caleb Williams on third down and USC is forced to punt. The Ducks take over at their own 17-yard line with 11:49 remaining in the first quarter.
* Bo Nix hits Tez Johnson on a back shoulder throw and Johnson breaks a tackle attempt by Calen Bullock and races 77 yards to the endzone. It’s 7-0 Oregon with 11:00 remaining in the first quarter.
* Justin Dedich returns to the game for USC for this drive.
* USC answers back with a touchdown drive of its own. MarShawn Lloyd caps the 10-play drive with a 5-yard touchdown run. Key play on the drive was a 44-yard pass from Williams to Dorian Singer on 2nd-and-19. It’s 7-7 with 5:37 remaining in the first quarter.
* Another huge catch and run for an Oregon receiver. Nix hits Troy Franklin over the middle and he outruns the USC defense for an 84-yard touchdown. Oregon goes for two but doesn’t get it. It’s 13-7 Oregon with 4:11 remaining in the first quarter.
* USC picks up 15 yards but a holding call pushes them back and helps stop the drive. Oregon takes over at its own 25-yard line after a USC punt and a personal foul penalty.
* USC gets a fourth-down stop on the first play of the second quarter but Solomon Byrd is penalized for being in the neutral zone. Oregon will keep possession.
* Nix throws his third touchdown pass of the game. This one goes 15 yards to Terrance Ferguson. Oregon goes for two again and again doesn’t get it. It’s 19-7 Oregon with 10:49 remaining in the first half.
* Oregon has to kick off from 15 yards deeper because of a penalty after the touchdown and USC can’t get anything going on the return. Trojans start from their own 9-yard line.
* USC doesn’t score but the Trojans do flip the field. An Eddie Czaplicki punt goes out of bounds at the one-yard line. Oregon takes over there with 5:18 remaining in the first half.
* Oregon drives 84 yards but has to settle for a field goal. It’s 22-7 Oregon with 1:59 remaining in the first half.

USC’s secondary completely lost Johnson in the endzone and the Trojans gave up an easy 21-yard score. Oregon pushes its lead to 29-14 with 8:17 remaining in the third quarter.
* USC lined up to go for it on 4th-and-3 from its own 32-yard line but couldn’t get the snap off and is called for delay of game. Fourth Quarter

* Oregon missed a field goal with 6:27 remaining in the game and USC will take over at its own 23-yard line, down 36-21.
* Austin Jones goes in for a touchdown with 3:44 remaining but USC doesn’t get the two point conversion. Oregon leads 36-27 and recovers the onside kick attempt by USC.
