MarShawn Lloyd declares for 2024 NFL Draft
USC running MarShawn Lloyd declared for the 2024 NFL Draft on Sunday, announcing he will forgo his final year of eligibility.
Lloyd announced his intentions in a social media post.
“I would like to give a special thanks to Coach Riley for giving me an opportunity to become a USC Trojan,” Lloyd posted. “To Coach Mac and Coach Wylie thank you both for believing in me and putting me in position to enhance my game.
“To my teammates and USC family, thank you for welcoming me with open arms. The love that I have been shown in such a short period of time, has made me feel at home and will be forever cherished.
“It has always been my dream since I was a little kid to be able to play in the NFL and I am blessed to be able to have that opportunity. With that being said, I’ve decided I will be chasing my lifelong dream and will be declaring into the 2024 NFL Draft.”

Lloyd was terrific for the Trojans in 2023, his one year with the team after transferring over from South Carolina. The 5-foot-9, 210-pound back led USC with 820 yards on 116 carries and found the endzone nine times. He posted 100-yard outings against both Arizona State and Cal. And Lloyd put together a streak of scoring a touchdown in six games in a row in which he played.
He always felt slightly underutilized in the running game. He did log 17 carries against the Golden Bears. But Lloyd received fewer than 10 carries in seven games this season. He finished the 2023 regular season averaging 7.1 yards per carry — a stat in which he ranked among the national leaders for the entire season.
