O/NSO: Mason Graham, one that got away edition
The Obvious: As USC fans are painfully aware, recruiting quality California prep defensive linemen in numbers has been – to say the least – a major issue. So, when No. 1 Michigan meets No. 2 Washington for the College Football Playoffs National Championship this Monday night in Houston, Texas, it will be especially disconcerting for Trojans' fans to acknowledge that leading the Wolverines’ defense will be a former Trojans' high school recruit from local Anaheim, California. The Not So Obvious: If you haven’t figured out the name of this former Orange County prep star, who also happens to have been last Monday’s Rose Bowl Defensive MVP, it’s Wolverines’ sophomore Mason Graham, a 2023 first-team All-Big Ten selection, who hails from the OC's Servite High School, an all-boys parochial school located just minutes from Disneyland.
