O/NSO: Utah edition
The Obvious: Because the USC Trojans (3-2, 2-2 Pac-12 South) already have two Pac-12 losses (Stanford and Oregon State), many are calling this Saturday night’s game (5 p.m. PDT) against the Utah Utes (2-2, 1-0), a Pac-12 South elimination game for the Men of Troy. It comes down to put up or shut up. The Not So Obvious: Being a Pac-12 South Division game, it adds additional peril for the Trojans because if they drop their home game to Utah, it means they could be three games behind streaking Arizona State, who hosts Stanford on Friday night, in the same division. Of course, with a win over the Utes, the Men of Troy would still have an outside chance of winning the Pac-12 South heading into the second half of the season, which will also feature the Trojans traveling to ASU for a potential big one on Nov. 6.
