OL Alani Noa Announcing School Choice Tuesday (8/16)
Although talented Sacramento Grant Union OL Alani Noa took his last official visit in late June, it’s taken him a few months to get to the point he’s ready to announce a school choice. On Tuesday at 11am PT, Noa will choose between USC and Oregon. Noa will announce his decision LIVE on Youtube.
The Trojans already have commitments from two of their top OL targets in Micah Banuelos and Amos Talalele. They hope to add Alani Noa in the fold tomorrow. That would mean Josh Henson got his top Interior Offensive Linemen from the West Coast.
USC offered Noa in February and he’s visited campus twice since then. He took an unofficial visit in March and followed that up with an official visit June 16-19. He took the official visit at the same time as Banuelos and Talalele. The impact of that visit was extremely significant for all three.
WeAreSC visited Noa at Grant Union HS in Sacramento on August 3 We talked about his USC official visit, his relationship with Banuelos, Talalele, Lincoln Riley, Josh Henson, what’s behind his interest in the Trojans, when he plans to announce and more.

Scott Schrader AND Alani Noa Q&A
SS: Haven’t had an opportunity to talk to you since the USC official visit. Can you just talk about what that experience was like?
AN: “Hanging out with Micah and Amos, as soon as I met them I felt like we were brothers. It was like an automatic connection. That’s going to play a real big role in my decision. I also really liked how the coaches made you feel at home and you can be yourself. You feel like you’re family.”
SS: Your thoughts on what you’ve seen on your two visits to USC about the direction of the program?
AN: “I think the potential is great. You can see the potential with the coaches and players…..especially the incoming recruiting class. USC has big potential and I would really want to be as part of that. Potential is see in Coach (Josh) Henson coming from Texas A&M and developing guys for the NFL there. He has some pretty good accolades.”
SS: How big of an impact on your decision will be where USC is located and what the University offers you?
AN: “The sports at USC is great, especially with the history, but the academics are too. L.A. is a great place for what I want to major in, which is real estate. So, that’s also going to play a big role in my decision. USC’s athletics speak for itself, but the academics are on another level compared to others.”
SS: Do you have a timeframe on when you plan to announce your school choice?
AN: “I don’t have an exact date, but this week or next. I’ve been saying I’ll announce next week for a while. I’m ready.”
