One offer I'd like to see USC extend in 2025
Over the past year or so, there has been a 2025 prospect in the Dallas-Fort Worth area I have seen on a few occasions. A 6-foot-1, 180 pound wide receiver, he has continued to catch my eye. Taz Williams Jr. is a standout playmaker at Red Oak High School in South Dallas.
Williams does not hold an offer from USC at this time, but he is one I would like to see earn an offer from the staff. WeAreSC’s Scott Schrader highlighted Williams in a story back in January.
Williams ranks as the No. 267 overall prospect in the country, No. 39 wide receiver in the nation and No. 48 overall prospect in Texas, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies
On3 ranks Williams slightly higher as the No. 244 overall prospect and No. 32 wide receiver.
Williams holds a quite impressive list of 44 offers. Those offers come from Texas, TCU, SMU, Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, LSU, Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas A&M, Baylor, Michigan, Georgia Tech, Colorado, Penn State, Miami, Nebraska, Auburn, California, Texas Tech, Arizona, Ole Miss, Tennessee, West Virginia, Missouri, Arizona State, Western Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Houston, UNLV, USF, Purdue, Kansas, Utah, Florida, South Carolina, Kansas State, Grambling State, Oregon State, Louisville, Florida State, San Diego State, and Wisconsin.
As a sophomore at Red Oak, Williams broke out with 31 receptions in 11 games for 582 receiving yards. He scored five times.
This year, in only four games played, Williams has hauled in 25 receptions for 348 yards and already has five touchdowns, matching his total from a year ago.
A USC offer…
Not only do I think it would be beneficial for USC to offer Williams, but he himself is eager to earn an offer from the Trojans. From my conversations with Williams and hearing about him from others, a USC offer would not just used for attention, but would be seriously considered as a contender.

USC has had previous communication with Williams, mostly coming from Kiel McDonald, so the two sides are familiar with one another. In fact, Williams visited USC this summer, alongside some others.
The USC staff clearly has lots of connections in Texas, although a good number of them in the last year or so have been in the Houston area, although the presence in Dallas has continued to grow. I think an offer to Williams can help grow that presence.
One of the Trojans top targets at wide receiver in 2025 is Houston area star Andrew Marsh. Adding another Texas playmaker to the target list couldn’t hurt, in my opinion.
Williams is on pace for a stellar season, already putting some big performances on the field. I’m sure Kiel McDonald will continue to monitor, but it come to Lincoln Riley, Joshn Henson, and Luke Huard if an offer were to be extended.
