Reggie Bush Named to 2023 College Football Hall of Fame Class
Reggie Bush is the newest USC Trojan elected to the College Football Hall of Fame. The former USC running back is part of the 22-member class soon to be enshrined at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
Bush was so good during his time with the Trojans that he became the comparison for every dynamic skill-position player over the next decade.
He finished his USC career with 3,169 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns, to go along with 95 receptions for 1,301 yards and 13 scores through the air. He added 1,523 yards and a touchdown on kickoff returns and another 559 yards and three touchdowns via punt return. Bush even added a 52-yard touchdown pass to his outstanding career totals.
Bush led the Pac-10 in all-purpose yards in both 2004 and 2005, earning Consensus First Team All-America honors as a sophomore and Unanimous All-America honors as an all-purpose player as a junior.
He was a two-time conference Player of the Year and finished his career holding the NCAA record with 7.3 yards per carry.
Bush set an NCAA record with an astounding 7.3 yards per carry during his career, and he led the NCAA with 222.3 all-purpose yards per game, finishing fourth nationally with 133.9 rushing yards per game in 2005. His 513 all-purpose yards vs. Fresno State in 2005, ranks second in NCAA annals.
His 513-yard performance against Fresno State is the stuff of legend and ranks second all-time in single-game all-purpose yards.

Bush twice finished in the top five for Heisman Trophy voting, winning the award in 2005, though it was later vacated. That season, he also won the Doak Walker Award and was named the Walter Camp, AP and Sporting News Player of the Year.

USC in the College Football Hall of Fame
According to USC, Bush is the 46th inductee with USC ties in the College Football Hall of Fame, and the 35th player. In addition, a Trojan has now been elected into the College Football Hall of Fame in 15 of the past 24 years.
Quarterback Carson Palmer went in as part of the 2021 class. Safety Troy Polamalu went in before Palmer, with the 2019 class. Bush’s teammate, quarterback Matt Leinart, was inducted with the 2017 Hall of Fame Class.
