Report: USC cornerback Domani Jackson to enter transfer portal
USC cornerback Domani Jackson has his sights set on entering the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from Matt Zenitz.
This would come on the heels of former USC cornerbacks coach Donte Williams moving to become the defensive backs coach at Georgia. Jackson consistently made it clear that Williams was a significant reason he signed with the Trojans.
Jackson was a Five-Star Plus+ prospect in the 2022 class and a major recruiting win for the Trojans over a strong push from Alabama. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound speedster missed nearly all of his senior season at Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei and much of his true freshman season at USC with injuries. But he began the 2023 season as a starting cornerback and started every game outside of the Arizona contest he missed due to injury.
Jackson finished the regular season with 33 tackles and three pass deflections.
USC Trojans in the Transfer Portal
Jackson could be the fifteenth Trojan to enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason. Fellow Five-Star Plus+ prospect Malachi Nelson is expected to enter the portal shortly.
Running back/wide receiver Raleek Brown is the only former Trojan to have made a commitment elsewhere. Brown announced Saturday that he’ll be heading to Arizona State to continue his career.
Running back Darwin Barlow, wide receiver Mario Williams and Michael Jackson III, tight end Jude Wolfe, defensive tackle De’jon Benton and offensive tackle Michael Tarquin are some of the other Trojans who have earned playing time at USC who remain in the portal at this time.
