SOCIAL: USC commit Kameryn Fountain tweets for Eddrick Houston to choose Trojans
We are just two days away from Buford (Ga.) standout Eddrick Houston announcing his commitment on August 22.
The five-star defensive lineman out of Buford (Ga.) will have Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State and USC hats on the table when he makes his announcement.
Houston is the No. 21 overall prospect and No. 4 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Georgia.
Ohio State is trending as of right now but one of USC’s current pledges in the 2024 class is making it known he wants Houston to join him in Los Angeles.
Top-100 EDGE Kameryn Fountain went to Twitter (X) and posted a picture of Houston dressed out in USC gear. He added the caption “MY USC FAMILY LETS BRING HIM HOME PLEASE”.

Both Fountain and Houston are from Georgia, their schools being about 45 minutes away from each other. It comes as no surprise that Fountain would love to play with not only a supreme talent from his state but one of that would playing on the defensive line with him.
USC took some by surprise this summer, becoming a legitimate option and contender for the five-star Houston.
He took an official visit to campus in May for what would be his first of five officials taken during the summer. While Ohio State has received most the buzz in recent weeks, it has been that USC has stuck around this recruitment and may be in second place in the recruitment.
We shall see if Kameryn Fountain and others at USC can change the tide two days out from a decision.
On3 Scouting Summary on Houston
The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Eddrick Houston:
“Twitched up edge defender who wins with get off and burst. Ran a solid 56.46 400m during his sophomore track and field season and also competed in the shot put and discus. Has positional flexibility due to size and athleticism, could potentially move off the ball to an inside linebacker prospect or gain serious mass and kick inside to a 3-technique.
“Shows off athletic ability and physicality at the point of attack on offense as well at the tight end position. Lacks ideal length for the edge but makes up for it with his hand usage and understanding of leverage.“
