The Huddle: USC at Arizona
The No. 10 USC Trojans (6-1, 4-1) take on the Arizona Wildcats (3-4, 1-3) Saturday night at Arizona Stadium in Tucson. This will be the first chance for the Trojans to bounce back from a heartbreaking, one-point loss at Utah two weeks ago, which knocked them from the ranks of the unbeaten. Arizona is also coming off a bye week as well as back-to-back losses to Oregon and Washington. Check out The Huddle for all the names, news, notes and numbers you need to watch your Trojans take on the Wildcats this Saturday.
Arizona’s Last Game
Two weeks ago, Arizona went to Washington in a matchup of the top two passing teams in the conference. The Huskies threw for 516 yards and piled up nearly 600 yards of total offense in a 49-39 win. The Wildcats nearly went punch-for-punch as they had 526 yards of total offense.
The 2021 Meeting
These two teams met just before Halloween last season and despite a 41-34 win, there was no treat for the Trojans. Standout wide receiver Drake London fractured his ankle while scoring a touchdown late in the first half and would be lost for the remainder of the season. Arizona managed its only 30-point outing of the season to go with 466 yards and an interception return for a touchdown. USC quarterbacks Kedon Slovis and Jaxson Dart each threw two touchdowns. London and Gary Bryant Jr. each caught two scores. And Keaontay Ingram ran for 204 yards and a score. It was the last game the Trojans would win during the 2021 season.
Remember When?
In 2012, the No. 10 USC Trojans took a 6-1 record to Tucson and left with a loss thanks to an unbelievable performance from dual-threat Wildcat quarterback Matt Scott.

Scott threw for 369 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 100 yards and another score in a 39-36 Arizona win. Wide receiver Austin Hill caught 10 passes for 259 yards and was still overshadowed by one of the all-time offensive performances in USC history.
Wide receiver Marqise Lee caught 16 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns. He smashed the single-game school record for receiving yards and added a 72-yard kickoff return. But USC threw two interceptions and lost five fumbles and lost the game when Hail Mary throw on the final play bounced incomplete.
