Three Trojans Headed to Super Bowl LVII
Following the NFL’s Conference Championship Games yesterday, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles are headed to Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona. And the two teams will be bringing three Trojans along with them.
Juju Smith-Schuster
After a five-year run with the Pittsburgh Steelers that included a trip to the Pro Bowl in 2018, former USC wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster is heading to the Super Bowl in his first season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Smith-Schuster’s 1,454 receiving yards with the Trojans in 2015 rank as the third-highest single-season mark in school history. He was a second round pick by the Steelers in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Ronald Jones II
Two years ago, former USC running back Ronald Jones II won Super Bowl LV with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, he is headed back to the big game for the second time in three seasons—this time as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. Somewhat ironically, Jones II and the Buccaneers defeated the Chiefs to win the title in 2020.
At USC, Jones II became the first Trojan to rush for 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons since LenDale White. The Buccaneers selected him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Marlon Tuipulotu
Unfortunately, former USC defensive lineman Marlon Tuipulotu will not be able to play in the Super Bowl, as he went on injured reserve in November. However, he still played a role in helping Philadelphia to get there.
After a four-year USC career that included first-team All-Pac 12 honors in 2020, Tuipulotu was a sixth-round pick by the Eagles in the 2021 NFL Draft. Prior to landing on IR this season, he recorded his first career sack and his first career fumble recovery.
Tuipulotu is the older brother of Tuli Tuipulotu, who was an All-American defensive lineman for USC this past season.
