The USC Trojans are through Day 10 of 2025 spring ball and WeAreSC has some tidbits from viewing the open portion of practice and hearing from head coach Lincoln Riley and players.

* Riley said about 150 former players were in attendance at the Coliseum this past Saturday for USC’s spring practice. He said it was neat to look over toward the defensive backs and see Ronnie Lott spending time with them. Riley added that after practice, many of the current players and former players stayed out on the field and spent time together talking about practice or just connecting.

Quarterback Jayden Maiava singled out Lott as the former player who he was most excited to see.

* Riley said wide receiver Prince Strachan has been putting together a good camp.

“He’s starting to really put it together and really shine,” Riley said.

USC has a strong one-two punch at receiver in Ja’Kobi Lane and Makai Lemon. Right now it looks like Strachan is grabbing that No. 3 spot, but DJ Jordan is clearly in that mix as well.

Quarterback Sam Huard spoke glowingly of Jordan after Tuesday’s practice, saying the redshirt freshman has the trust of the quarterbacks and the effort he’s putting in is evident on the field.

* Tight end Lake McRee won’t be on the field for the rest of the spring as the Trojans are shutting him down to avoid further injury.

* USC will lose defensive end Lorenzo Cowan to the transfer portal this spring, a development announced by Riley after practice.
