Tidbits from Day 11 of USC spring ball

The USC Trojans are through Day 11 of 2025 spring ball and WeAreSC has some tidbits from viewing the open portion of practice and hearing from head coach Lincoln Riley and players.
* Riley praised the conditioning work Jah Jarrett has put in since arriving at USC. His ability to drop weight and stay on the field was a consistent talking point at Georgia and Riley said the Trojans were up front with him about that. Since arriving at USC, Jarrett has lived in the weight room with strength coach Bennie Wylie, according to Riley.
“We’re going to name a StairMaster after him, for sure,” Riley said, adding that Jarrett is embracing this opportunity as a fresh start and playing with a heightened energy level.
* Purdue offensive line transfer DJ Wingfield is settling in at left guard Riley said he and left tackle Elijah Paige are developing solid chemistry there.
“He’s really impressive, really good player,” Riley said. “We obviously thought enough of him to sign him and he’s probably a little bit better than I thought he was. And I thought he was pretty good.”

Riley said he’s had a professional approach to everything he’s done this spring and has been a plug-and-play guy, making it feel like he’s been at USC for much longer than just a couple of months.
* Keeshawn Silver spoke to the media for the first time this spring. He said defensive line coach Eric Henderson was the biggest factor in him choosing the Trojans out of the transfer portal. He said their personal backstories matched up and they connected quickly. Henderson reached out as soon as he entered the portal and Silver said he heard from the USC defensive line coach every single day until he committed.
Silver said he thought was a “very dominant run stopper” last season and feels like Coach Henny is going to turn him into a better pass rusher this season.
* There were some important visitors on campus for practice. Class of 2026 five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons was at USC again this spring. USC defensive tackle commit TomTom Topui was in attendance, as was USC cornerback commit Brandon Lockhart. Class of 2026 four-star edge Derek Colman-Brusa was there, as was 2027 defensive tackle Elija Harmon. Mater Dei head coach Raul Lara was in attendance as well.
