Top-100 WR Ryan Pellum with top two, decision coming soon
Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan four-star wide receiver Ryan Pellum has narrowed his list of top schools down to two. The two he’ll pick between are Oregon and USC.
Pellum’s announcement won’t come until after he travels to visit Oregon this weekend for an official. That will be his second trip to Eugene.
The 5-foot-11, 169-pound pass-catcher is the No. 92 overall prospect and No. 16 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 10 player in California.
On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine
USC holds the lead in Pellum’s recruitment according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). The Trojans sit with a 44.3% chance to land his pledge while Oregon sits in second with a 22.4% chance.
RPM was released to the public in December 2021. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
