Trent Wilson

One of the top defensive lineman in the 2025 class, St. Frances Academy’s Trent Wilson, has narrowed his recruitment from 27 schools down to 12 and USC made the cut.

Wilson is the No. 57 overall prospect and No. 4 defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Maryland.

On3 is higher on Wilson than others in the industry, ranking him as the No. 42 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 6 defensive lineman. They rank him as the No. 1 prospect in Maryland.

The full list of 12 consists of USC, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, Miami, Maryland, Rutgers, Texas A&M, and Penn State.

Wilson has visited USC one time in his recruitment, making a trip to Los Angles this past March.

The standout defensive lineman told me previously that USC has been a school he has been excited to grow his relationship with and take to the next level. His trimming of his recruitment shows he is now doing that.

On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine

The 6-foot-3, 275-pounder holds 27 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Penn State currently has the early lead to land a commitment from Wilson at 25.3% with Ohio State trailing at 15.0%. Big 10 programs are well represented in Wilson’s recruitment.

RPM was released to the public in December 2021. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

On3 NIL Valuation

Wilson has an On3 NIL Valuation of $63K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time

USC’s 2025 class

USC holds one commitment in the 2025 class in Oxford (Ala.) Thompson four-star safety Anquon Fegans.

Fegans is the No. 18 overall prospect and No. 2 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also ranked as the No. 4 player in Alabama.

USC is not officially ranked in the 2025 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings due to lack of commitments, but already has the third highest recruiting score with just Fegans in the class. The Trojans are behind only Georgia and Alabama.

USC currently sits at No. 1 in the 2025 class in average prospect rating with an average of 95.01. Coming in at second place is Ohio State with an average rating of 94.05.
