UCF CB Chasen Johnson didn’t even wait for his USC official visit to end before announcing his verbal commitment t to the Trojans Thursday night.

Johnson, who has four years of eligibility left, played 452 snaps his true freshman season for UCF. Down the stretch, the former Seminole High standout started four out of the final five games and had a total of 14 tackles with two pass defections. On the season as a whole, he had 18 total tackles.

A three-star prospect out of Sanford (Fla.) Seminole high school in the 2024 class, Johnson was ranked as the nation’s No. 118 cornerback and the No. 147 ranked player in the state of Florida, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

San Jose State defensive back transfer DJ Harvey is also visiting this weekend and we’ve submitted a USC prediction for him. So, USC could be off to a quick start and won’t be done with adding more.

With knowing DJ Harvey and the fact he’s planning to visit USC this week, we’re submitted a USC prediction. Harvey and Johnson are the two defensive backs visiting USC this weekend, but a source tells us there are two more big defensive back targets likely visiting next week.

As of now, the plan is to add three or four defensive backs from the portal. If USC gets Harvey, what we’re hearing leads us to believe Doug Belk and USC will add at least two more.

There is playing time to be had in the USC secondary right now as the Trojans could lose all five starters this offseason and will definitely lose its top four cornerbacks.

USC has lost 14 players to the transfer portal this week after the winter window opened on Monday. None of those players were from the defensive secondary, but that is a spot where the Trojans will need to add several transfer portal players and also rely on some 2024 sig
