Lane Kiffin won’t be making a return to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum after all. Per multiple reports, the games between the USC Trojans and Ole Miss Rebels scheduled for 2025 and 2026 have been canceled.

Action Network’s Brett McMurphy reported it was a mutual decision between the two schools. David Eckert of the Clarion Ledger said Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter hinted at the decision last week at a fan event, saying there’s an expectation the SEC will move to nine conference games and some “marquee matchups maybe coming off the books because of that.”

The games were scheduled to be played in 2025 in Los Angeles and 2026 in Oxford. The original agreement was announced in May of 2020, when Clay Helton was still head coach of the Trojans. The 2026 meeting would have been USC’s first game in the state of Mississippi.

USC’s 2025 non-conference schedule features games against Georgia Southern in the Coliseum and Notre Dame in South Bend. The 2026 schedule will see both Fresno State and Notre Dame come to the Coliseum.
