New Facilities

USC announced huge news for its athletics programs on Thursday as part of President Carol L. Folt’s athletics “moonshot.”

At the heart of the audacious plan to revamp and improve a number of items for all of USC’s 21 sports teams are three stated goals for Folt, according to a USC press release.

“The three primary objectives of the vision are to position USC Athletics for success with world-class facilities, promote gender equity in support of Title IX and maximize space use through innovative planning,” the release states. “Trojan student-athletes will soon have state-of-the-art facilities commensurate to their recent achievements and to USC’s upcoming integration into the Big Ten Conference, all within the existing footprint of the University Park Campus.”

Facilities improvements are a majority of this project. Head coach Lincoln Riley mentioned facilities projects during his introductory press conference and USC fans have been waiting for this news since then.

The specifics regarding USC Football

USC football will have a new performance center, featuring a rooftop hospitality deck and player lounge atop three stories dedicated to team operations.

There will also be a second full-length practice field added. Right now, the team has one full-length field in addition to an additional half of a field.

Riley is obviously pleased with these developments, calling it “an absolute game-changer for our program” in the press release.

“It will be the perfect home for our team and give our players every opportunity to be successful,” Riley continued.

According to the release: “The new complex will feature student-athlete-centric spaces, including a new locker room, multiple player lounges, a recovery hub, nutritional support, sports sciences services, a weight room, a training room, and an equipment room.
