The USC Men’s Basketball Program announced Thursday that incoming freshman Bronny James will wear No. 6 for the Trojans this season.

It might wind up being one of the nation’s top-selling jerseys this season as the 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard is the nation’s most well-known college athlete. James has 13 million social media followers across his Instagram and Tik Tok accounts, making him the No. 1 overall athlete in the NIL 100 with an NIL valuation of $6.8 million. That’s twice the valuation of the No. 2 athlete, LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne.

The connection to No. 6 is obvious for James. It’s the number his father, NBA superstar LeBron James, has worn Nos. 23 and 6 for his entire NBA career. James has said that part of the reason he chose No. 6 when he made the move to the Miami Heat is due to Bronny’s birthday, Oct. 6.

James Jr. wore No. 0 at Sierra Canyon this past season. But he wore No. 6 at the McDonald’s All-America Game and while playing for the USA team at the Nike Hoop Summit.

USC’s Kobe Johnson wears No. 0 for the Trojans.
