USC CB commit Braylon Conley snags game winning INT in overtime
Many of USC’s pledges in the 2024 class have been having strong senior seasons, but one that has not been talked about enough is Humble (Tex.) Atascocita cornerback Braylon Conley. Conley has his Atascocita squad sitting pretty with a perfect 8-0 record.
Conley himself has dominated this season on the perimeter of the defense, dealing with everything that enters the air around him. He has also shown off the ball skills and athleticism with two pick-6’s this season.
He had another strong performance this weekend as he came up big for his team in a clutch moment. Leading 28-21 in overtime, Conley lined up in a shallow safety role in the middle of the field. As his opponent CE King, was in the midst of running a screen play, Conley read it perfectly, jumped the route, and caught a game sealing interception.
The interception was the third of his season.
There has not had much conversation about him this season, but that is looking like it will be changing. Conley is looking to be the defensive catalyst for his squad that is hoping to make a deep playoff run.
Conley’s Projected Position in College
A major discussion among fans is about Conley’s true position. The 6-foot, 170 pound defensive back is ranked by recruiting services as a safety, but the Trojans have recruiting to player cornerback at the next level.

I think it is also possible we see Conley in a nickel cornerback role in the future. It is likely all the cornerbacks in the 2024 class for the Trojans will be tested at both outside and nickel, which will decide who fits where.
Conley is the No. 636 overall prospect and No. 67 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 106 player in Texas.
Conley has long been a favorite of USC defensive backs coach Donte Williams. He has taken three visits to USC in his recruitment, one coming in April, one in late May, and the most recent being earlier this fall.
On3 NIL Valuation for Conley
Conley has an On3 NIL Valuation of $29K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
