USC center Jonah Monheim named to Rimington Trophy Watch List
USC center Jonah Monheim was one of 40 offensive linemen named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List on Friday.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pound redshirt senior will be starting at his fourth position along the offensive line for the Trojans as he moves to center for the 2024 season. Monheim started 18 games at right tackle, 12 games at right tackle and four games at right guard. He was a team captain last season and was named to the AP All-Pac-12 Second Team as a left tackle.

It’s another in a long line of preseason recognition for Monheim. He was named to the 2024 Outland Trophy Watch List and the Athlon Sports Preseason All-Big Ten First Team.
The Rimington Trophy has been awarded annually since the 2000 season and his named for former Nebraska center Dave Rimington. No USC player has ever won the award though Big Ten programs have a long history with it. Michigan and Ohio State both have three of the 25 winners. Penn State and Minnesota have each won it once. And the conference is (sort of) on a three-year winning streak. Iowa’s Tyler Linderbaum won it in 2021. Michigan’s Olusegun Oluwatimi won in 2022. And Oregon’s Jackson Powers-Johnson won it this past season.
