USC commit Xavier Jordan with hot start to senior season
USC wide receivers have been a hot topic lately, at just about every level. The current Trojan receivers are thriving with 15 seperate players catching a pass in the first two games. NFL Trojan receivers are being talked about right now as Amon-Ra St. Brown was a star in the opening game of the NFL season Thursday night and several USC commits are off to hot starts in their senior seasons. One of these is 2024 Sierra Canyon wide receiver Xavier Jordan.
Jordan missed the season opener for Sierra Canyon, but was back for the next two. And boy has he shown why Trojans fans should be excited for him. And he’s doing in with limited opportunities.
In his first game, he reeled in four receptions for 51 yards and one touchdown. Then last week, Jordan brought in only two receptions but both were for touchdowns and he totaled 116 receiving yards along the way, including a 77-yarder.
Thats six receptions for 167-yards and three touchdowns on the year so far. It’s not much volume, but it’s great efficiency in finding the end zone.
I would expect Jordan to get a lot more targets as the season goes on. With his production in his first two games, he already leads Sierra Canton in yards and touchdowns.

Jordan not the only one balling out
USC wide receiver commit Ryan Pellum has also had a hot start to his senior campaign. In his season opener, he had one of the top stat-lines we’ve seen so far this year at the receiver position.
Pellum hauled in seven receptions for 112 yards and two receiving touchdowns. One of his receiving touchdowns was a 32-yard catch. His most exciting play of the game though came on special teams when Pellum took the opening kickoff of the game 92-yards to the house.
Going to last season, Pellum has four 2+ touchdown performances in his past six games.
The future is bright for USC
With the current core of talent (non-seniors) that is already in the Cardinal and Gold such as Zachariah Branch, Dorian Singer, Duce Robinson, Mario Williams, Michael Jackson III, Makai Lemon, and Ja’Kobi Lane, plus the elite talents that are Jordan and Pellum, the receiver room is built for the future.
It also helps knowing USC will have some elite talent at the quarterback position as well with either Miller Moss or Malachi Nelson on top of the distant future of five-star commit Julian Lewis.
