USC Injury Report: Trojans out and questionable against Wisconsin
The Big Ten availability report is out for the game between the No. 13 USC Trojans (2-1) and the Wisconsin Badgers (2-1) and there are some expected names on it for Lincoln Riley’s program.
USC Trojans Availability Report
OUT
WR Makai Lemon
OT Micah Banuelos
OC Kilian O’Connor
TE Lake McRee
DT Bear Alexander
Questionable
USC will be without two key receiving options in this one. Wide receiver Makai Lemon and tight end Lake McRee are both out due to injuries suffered in last week’s loss to Michigan. Lemon was hit hard on a punt coverage play and stayed down on the ground for an extended period of time. He eventually walked off the field with some slight assistance from USC trainers. Earlier this week, Riley said the injury was more a result of the whiplash that caused the back of Lemon’s helmet to slam into the ground.
Backup slot receiver Jay Fair stepped in when Lemon went down last week. He caught three passes for 42 yards and a touchdown against the Wolverines.
McRee suffered what looked to be a knee injury when he was hit low by a Michigan defender following a short catch. The tight end suffered ACL injuries in high school and just before USC’s bowl game last season. Riley said this week the Trojans will be without McRee for a little while but hope to have him back.

McRee is second on the team with 12 receptions for 134 yards. Redshirt freshman Kade Eldridge has already seen his playing time increase dramatically this season and he’ll be called upon to step in for McRee. True freshman Walker Lyons has been in the mix and could see an increased role.
Safety Akili Arnold went down a couple of times against Michigan and looked to have injured his shoulder late in the game. He was replaced by safety Bryson Shaw against Cal and defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn said both Shaw and fellow safety Zion Branch have played themselves into position to see more time. Arnold is listed as questionable but it would be very surprising if he played against Wisconsin.
O’Connor and Banuelos were both listed as “out” for last week’s game against Michigan.
Alexander’s camp very publicly announced this week that he would be sitting out the rest of the season while utilizing a redshirt year.
