Some national media and fans of other college football teams were all too excited to congratulate USC on putting together a terrific 7-on-7 football team this offseason when the Trojans landed quarterback Caleb Williams and four wide receivers out of the transfer portal, including Jordan Addison and Mario Williams. But USC's returning offensive line, the addition of two talented, veteran running backs, and all of Lincoln Riley's history as a playcaller suggested the Trojans' running game was about to see a significant boost.
