USC LB coach Brian Odom makes stops in Texas to see targets in 24 and 25 classes
USC inside linebackers coach Brian Odom was on the road today in Texas checking out some top targets. At least of two of stops were made to Jasper High and Galveston Ball.
Jasper High is home to 2024 On300 four-star linebacker Tyanthony Smith and Galveston Ball is the home of 2025 top-100 prospect Jonah Williams. Williams earned an offer from the Trojans as a result of Odom’s trip.
Smith is set to take an official visit to USC in June and will likely return during the fall for a game.

The offer and relationship with Odom and USC is brand new for Williams, but he has already told me he is eager to visit “soon hopefully.”
What Smith said about his previous USC visit
“Their academic program is off the charts, there’s really cool people and there’s also a beach lol. I didn’t know USC was a private school. They told me there’s only 20-30 people in classrooms and that was a really big deal.”
WeAreSC followed up with Smith at the Under Armour Next Camp in Dallas Sunday (3/12). Just to get more clarification on what’s standing out with the Trojans.
“With Lincoln Riley there, I trust what they got going on at USC,” he said. “They’ve built the offense and now they plan is to build the defense. Getting an opportunity to talk to Coach Riley was one of the biggest highlights of the visit. That and spending time with Coach Odom.”
On3 7v7 Evaluation of Williams
“Jonah Williams stood out in a fantastic way during Day 1 of the OT7 tournament. From a size and stature standpoint he is light years ahead of his peers amongst 2025 prospects. Williams has the size and growth potential to fill out and eventually walk down to linebacker at the next level. He lined up all over the field throughout the day taking snaps at safety, linebacker and even wide receiver. His movement skills shined as he was able to bat down passes as a deep half defender at safety and as an underneath defender at linebacker. We also got a glimpse of his ball skils as he had multiple catches at receiver and was able to pluck the ball away from his frame with ease. The biggest thing that stood out was his ability to cover sideline to sideline and close to the football. For someone with his size to trigger and close the gap on ball carriers and receivers as well as he does was extremely impressive which is why he is On3’s Day 1 MVP.”
