USC LB target Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa sets late July commitment date
Bellflower (Cal.) St. John Bosco four-star linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa is the latest top prospect in California to announce an upcoming commitment date. The Trojans top priority will be announce his commitment on July 23.
Viliamu-Asa is the No. 94 overall prospect and No. 8 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 10 player in California.
Notre Dame and Ohio State are the two other schools in the running with USC in this recruitment. He has taken official visits to all three schools this summer.
Most impactful aspect of the USC experience
“I would say the most impactful parts was really just spending time with the coaches,” said Viliamu-Asa. “Everywhere me and my family went, we were spending time having conversations. They were really getting to know us, and we were getting to know them.
“One of the biggest highlights came Sunday morning at Coach Riley’s house. We ate breakfast, all of the coaches came out and all they brought their families. We ate breakfast and then had a little Bible Study. That was definitely a highlight.”
On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine
The 6-foot-2, 235-pounder holds 28 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Notre Dame currently has the lead to land a commitment from Viliamu-Asa at 73.9.0%, but there is reason to believe USC is higher up than some think.
RPM was released to the public in December 2021. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa at Bellflower (California) St. John Bosco played on one of the most star-studded defenses in all of high school football in 2022. Yet, it was Viliamu-Asa that walked away with the highest postseason honors on a defense full of five- and four-star recruits. Viliamu-Asa was named the Southern Section All-CIF Defensive Player of the Year as a junior. He earned the recognition after making big play after big play, including against archrival Santa Ana Mater Dei.
In a postseason matchup of California football juggernauts, Viliamu-Asa led the Broncos with 7.5 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks. He also had a key fumble recovery in the Open Division state title game against Serra. Viliamu-Asa finished 2022 with 111 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two fumble and one interception. He missed the 2021 season because of an ACL injury that occurred in Bosco’s final spring game of the 2021 COVID-19 make up season.
