USC Linebacker Ralen Gofoth Enters the Transfer Portal
Veteran linebacker Ralen Goforth entered the transfer portal on Monday, becoming the third USC Trojan to do so during this transfer window.
Goforth, 6-foot-2, 225-pounds, was a key contributor over four years with the Trojans. He signed with USC as a consensus three-star prospect out of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco and saw the field right away.
As a true freshman in 2019, Goforth played in 12 games on defense and special teams. He earned a starting role as a sophomore during the shortened Covid season. He finished that year fourth on the team with 38 tackles. Last season, he started eight games and played in all 12. He finished second on the team with 61 tackles.
In 2022, Goforth lost his starting spot with the arrivals of transfer linebacker Shane Lee and Eric Gentry. But Goforth was a significant part of the rotation and invaluable when both Lee and Gentry suffered injuries that kept them out of several games.

Goforth also battled injury this season as he missed two games. But in 11 games, Goforth recorded 43 tackles, one interception and a fumble recovery. That interception came in the season-opener against Rice and he returned it 31 yards for a touchdown.
