USC makes cut for 4-star CB Dakoda Fields top-7
On Sunday, Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star cornerback Dakoda Fields announced his top seven schools and USC made the cut.
Greg Biggins of 247Sports reported that California, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, USC and Washington were the schools of focus for Fields.
Fields is the No. 89 overall prospect and No. 12 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 10 player in California.
Even with his top-7 newly released, it appears Fields’ recruitment might come down to a battle of two Pac-12 powers
Fields has two official visits for the summer as he’ll visit USC on June 2 and Oregon on June 23. He visited both of those schools over the spring including a pair of visits to USC.
USC’s presence in Fields’ recruitment
The Trojans have hosted Fields on six unofficial visits and has the official visit ahead on the schedule. His seventh visits to USC will have outnumbered Oregon by three visits.
Fields has been to USC many times, but some visits are different than others. His March 4 visit with his entire family put the Trojans firmly in the mix. Prior that visit, it didn’t appear USC stood much of a chance.
