Jonah Williams

2025 Galveston (Texas) Ball linebacker Jonah Williams has taken the next step in his recruitment, narrowing down his offers to 12.

USC, TCU, LSU, Tennessee, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Oregon and Arizona State also made the top schools.

Williams is the No. 30 overall prospect and No. 2 linebacker in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Texas.

Williams earned his offer from USC on May 1 and has since progressed his relationship with linebackers coach Brian Odom. In fact, Williams and spoke recently about scheduling a visit for next week.

So far, Williams has only visited three schools: Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.

His eventual visit to USC will be his first outside of his region.

On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound defender holds 20 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas currently has the lead to land a commitment from Williams at 42.4%. Texas A&M sits in second place at 19.4%.

RPM was released to the public in December 2021. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

On3 NIL Valuation

Williams has an On3 NIL Valuation of $104K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

On3’s 7v7 Scouting Report

Jonah Williams stood out in a fantastic way during Day 1 of the OT7 tournament. From a size and stature standpoint he is light years ahead of his peers amongst 2025 prospects. Williams has the size and growth potential to fill out and eventually walk down to linebacker at the next level. He lined up all over the field throughout the day taking snaps at safety, linebacker and even wide receiver. His movement skills shined as he was able to bat down passes as a deep half defender at safety and as an underneath defender at linebacker. We also got a glimpse of his ball skils as he had multiple catches at receiver and was able to pluck the ball away from his frame with ease. The biggest thing that stood out was his ability to cover sideline to sideline and close to the football. For someone with his size to trigger and close the gap on ball carriers and receivers as well as he does was extremely impressive which is why he is On3’s Day 1 MVP.
