Seeing that prospects in the class of 2027 are getting offered seems pretty wild considering the class of 2024 is the primary focus right now, but when a kid shines early, why not offer? USC was the latest to offer a up-and-coming defensive prospect out of Sierra Canyon this week in 2026 edge rusher Richard Wesley.

Wesley, who has only been high school for a couple weeks, has had quite the last few days, earning offers from USC, Georgia, and Washington. California was the first offer back in May.

Obviously being such a new name to the recruiting world, there is limited information on him, but we have the basics.

According to his Twitter, Wesley measures in at 6-foot-4, 235 pounds. For likely being 14 years old, I think we can all agree that’s impressive.

The video doesn’t lie

Only being a couple weeks into his season, there is a limited sample size of what Wesley can do with pads on. But his early season clips look promising, which makes sense given three pretty big offers after only two games. But even in this clip below, you can see the quick twitch movements and power he has in his rush. He has good speed and even looks like he has some pass rush moves he’s using. Right now, he is using pure raw ability and athleticism, but his technique is quite impressive for such an early age.

Sierra Canyon

Sierra Canyon is the home of two current USC commits in four-star wide receiver Xavier Jordan and four-star safety Marquis Gallegos. Obviously, the senior duo are several years separated, but I’m sure there were some words of influence and support for the Trojans following the offer this week.

Wesley is only the seventh offer from USC to a 2027 prospect, according to the On3 Database.
