USC offers two Texas underclassmen, raising presence in the Lone Star state
I have written a few different times in recent weeks that it appears Lincoln Riley is ramping up USC’s recruiting presence in the state of Texas, a state Riley found not only success, but dominance in throughout his career.
Obviously nearly all of that came while coaching in the state of Texas or at Oklahoma, only a few hours away from Dallas-Forth Worth, a major recruiting hotbed. Riley signed three Texas prospects in his first Trojan recruiting class in 2023 and appears to be working diligently to raise those numbers in the coming signing classes.
Riley and his staff extended two offers this week to Texas based prospects in the 2025 and 2026 classes.
Offer No. 1
The first offer was dished out to 2025 Southlake (Tex.) Carroll four-star tight end Jack VanDorselaer.
VanDorselaer, 6-foot-4, 225 pounds is the No. 261 overall prospect and No. 15 tight end in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 45 prospect in Texas.
VanDorselaer currently holds 23 offers. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Baylor as a slight favorite to land a commitment from VanDorselaer at 31.9%. Texas comes in at second place at 27.9%.

Offer No. 2
The second offer to be aware of is one that is not quite as popular, at least to this point. And that would be because he is in the class of 2026. Forney (Tex.) running back Javian Osborne is one of the elite up and coming offensive talents in the DFW area.
Osborne, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, currently holds offers from USC, TCU, Texas, SMU, UTSA, Texas Tech, and Washington.
As a freshman, Osborne rushed for 977 yards and eight touchdowns on 144 carries. He averaged 6.8 yards per carry and just three yards shy of averaging 100 yards per game.
It is far too early to think about where schools stand, but TCU and Texas seem to be two early favorites as he has visited both. Each school already hold 40%+ plus odds to land the young back.
