USC Official Visit Set for Nations's No. 72 Ranked Player Xavier Jordan
There have been a few weekends at USC this year with more activity than than some, but Lincoln Riley and staff hosted an extremely impressive collection of top 2024 prospects the weekend of Jan. 28. That’s when 4-Star Sierra Canyon WR Xavier Jordan first visited USC.
Jordan left USC after spending several hours with the staff, but without a scholarship offer. The offer came from Dennis Simmons the following Monday night for the On3 Top 100 prospect.
Massive June 16-19 Official Visit Weekend
Last June 16-19 USC hosted 25 official visitor and signed 14 of them. Duce Robinson was the final addition from that weekend when he signed with USC on March 30.
Although it’s still two months off, there are already seven official visitors confirmed for June 16-18. Jordan, LB Tyanthony Smith, WR Mike Matthews, RB Bryan Jackson, RB Nathaniel Palmer, Edge Darien Mayo and Jaylen Harvey. CB Zabien Brown and RB Taylor Tatum are set for June 3
On3 hadn’t ranked Jordan in January, but now Charles Power and On3 has him ranked No. 72.
Impressive Offer List
Jordan already has offers from USC, Arizona, Ohio St., Georgia, Michigan St., Colorado, Boston College, Cal, Colorado St., Georgia, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Tennessee, Penn St., Oklahoma, Washington St., Utah, Syracuse, UNLV, San Jose St. and Hawaii. Fast forward a few months and Jordan’s been back at USC one more time and has an Official Visit set for the weekend of June 16.
April 8 USC visit
“The visit was tremendous,” said Jordan. “It was an incredible visit, the stadium is amazing and the one-on-one time was magnificent. And me being from southern California just made everything a plus. So, the whole get down was amazing.”
Lincoln Riley and Dennis Simmons
If Jordan were to end up at USC, his position coach would be Dennis Simmons.
“I really like Coach Simmons and he’s a great coach,” Jordan said. “What really got me to like him was he’s so real and humble. I didn’t even know he was the assistant head coach.
Most of the country took notice last year with how quickly Riley turned the USC program around, including Jordan.
“He took USC from zero to 100 really fast,” Jordan said. “They finish 11-3 and had a Heisman Trophy winner in his first year. Nobody was expecting that. Then Coach Riley has that great energy. I’d have no problem getting fired up to play for him.
“With his receivers and offense, it’s like, how do you stop them? He’s the quarterbacks coach, offensive coordinator, he calls the plays and he’s the head coach. So, he’s involved and that’s exactly what you want from a head coach.”
