The US LBM Coaches Poll was released on Monday and the USC Trojans will open the season as the No. 23 team in the nation.

USC is one of six Big Ten Teams in the top 25. The SEC leads the way for the Power 4 conferences with nine teams, all among the top 20.

The Trojans will have an opportunity to shoot up the rankings very quickly this season. USC opens the season with a game against No. 12 LSU in Las Vegas on Sept. 1. The Trojans will then likely see another ranked opponent for their third game of the season when they travel to Ann Arbor to take on No. 8 Michigan.

In all, USC is scheduled to face three teams who start the season among the Top 10 teams in the preseason coaches poll. Both No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 9 Penn State are scheduled to visit the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum this year.

The other Big Ten teams included in the poll are No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Oregon and No. 25 Iowa.

USC opened last season as the No. 6 team in the 2023 preseason coaches poll. The Trojans finished the year among those receiving votes, the equivalent of No. 33 in the nation.
