USC parts ways with Director of Football Sports Performance Bennie Wylie

The USC Trojans have parted ways with Director of Football Sports Performance Bennie Wylie, head coach Lincoln Riley announced on Tuesday afternoon.
“We are grateful for the many contributions Coach Wylie has made to our program throughout the last three seasons. He has been an outstanding role model to our young men,” said Riley in a statement. “This is a difficult decision, but we are committed to positioning our football program to compete for national championships as we continue to move forward into the 2025 season and beyond.”

Wylie was one of several staffers who came with Riley from Oklahoma to USC when Riley took the head coaching job late in the 2021 season. Wylie served 4 years (2018-21) as Oklahoma’s director of sports performance for football under Riley as head coach of the Sooners. The two also worked together at Texas Tech from 2003-09.
This will be another significant change for USC this offseason. The Trojans previously added General Manager Chad Bowden earlier this year and made on-field coaching hires of tight ends coach Chad Savage, linebackers coach Rob Ryan and cornerbacks coach Trovon Reed.
