The USC Trojans’ media team produced a social media graphic depicting the 2025 coaching staff and the highlights of each assistant on Tuesday. While the new faces were expected as USC added Chad Savage, Rob Ryan and Trovon Reed to the staff this offseason, there was one title change of note. Quarterback coach Luke Huard has added the offensive coordinator label to his title.

Former offensive line coach Josh Henson held the offensive coordinator title for the Trojans last season before leaving for Purdue this offseason. That title under head coach Lincoln Riley has never come with playcalling responsibilities and it would be a significant surprise if Riley elected to let those go for this upcoming season.

But Huard continues to make an impact on this staff. He began his USC tenure in 2022 as an offensive analyst and took over as inside receivers coach following the tragic passing of Dave Nichol. Huard took over as the USC quarterbacks coach last season after Riley held that title his first two years with the Trojans. Huard was instrumental in helping USC land five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet in this class.

The rest of the staff comes with no surprises, though some of the titles continue to be a mouthful.

Luke Huard – Offensive coordinator / QB coach

Zach Hanson – Offensive line coach

Dennis Simmons – Assistant head coach / Pass game coordinator / Wide receivers coach

Anthony Jones – Running backs coach / Run game coordinator

Chad Savage – Tight ends coach / Inside receivers coach

D’Anton Lynn – Defensive coordinator

Eric Henderson – Co-Defensive coordinator / Run game coordinator / Defensive line coach

Rob Ryan – Assistant head coach for defense / Linebackers coach

Doug Belk – Secondary coach

Trovon Reed – Cornerbacks coach

Shaun Nua – Defensive ends coach

It’s notable that USC has 11 assistant coaches listed. On-field countable coaches are a thing of the past after the NCAA passed a rule that allows an unlimited number of assistants to instruct athletes during practices and games. But staffs are still limited to 11 total coaches on the road during evaluation and visit periods. That includes the head coach, which means the Trojans won’t be able to send all 11 assistants, plus Riley, on the road at one time. Coaches are able to designate any 10 staffers as countable coaches for off-campus recruiting purposes.
