USC running back MarShawn Lloyd accepts Senior Bowl invite
USC running back MarShawn Lloyd will participate in the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl after accepting his invitation on Friday.
Lloyd was terrific for the Trojans in 2023, his one year with the team after transferring over from South Carolina. The 5-foot-9, 210-pound back led USC with 820 yards on 116 carries and found the endzone nine times. He posted 100-yard outings against both Arizona State and Cal. And Lloyd put together a streak of scoring a touchdown in six games in a row in which he played.
Before coming to USC, Lloyd had 801 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, plus 220 receiving yards and two more scores in two years of playing time at South Carolina. Lloyd finishes his college career with 2,073 yards from scrimmage and 21 touchdowns.
Lloyd previously announced that he would be forgoing his final year of eligibility and making himself available for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Lloyd has been on the Senior Bowl radar all season. He was chosen as one of two running backs to the Senior Bowl midseason team as he’d rushed for 519 yards on 67 carries and scored four touchdowns, plus had five receptions for 79 yards to that point in the year.

Lloyd will not play in the DIRECTV Holiday Bowl with the Trojans as they face the No. 15 Louisville Cardinals. USC head coach Lincoln Riley said earlier this week that the Trojans would have Austin Jones, Quinten Joyner and A’Marion Peterson available for the game on Dec. 27.
He is the second USC Trojan to accept an invite to the Senior Bowl. Previously, wide receiver Brenden Rice announced he would play in it. The Senior Bowl will be played on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the University of South Alabama’s Hancock Whitney Stadium. It will be televised on NFL Network at 10 am PT.
