The Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Oregon Ducks 78-62 on Thursday in Round 2 of the Big Ten women’s basketball tournament and the No. 1-seed USC Trojans are awaiting the Hoosiers in the quarterfinals.

Lindsay Gottlieb’s program is the No. 1 seed and one of four teams that received double-byes in the tournament. USC, UCLA, Ohio State and Maryland all sailed through as the top four seeds and will play their first games tomorrow.

Indiana was led over Oregon by 18 points from Yarden Garzon and 17 points from Shay Ciezki. Indiana made 11-of-25 three-point shots and forced 18 Oregon turnovers.

USC beat Indiana in the regular-season meeting between the two programs. The Trojans went into Bloomington and came out with a 73-66 win. It was a back-and-forth game with USC not really asserting itself until a 12-0 run in the fourth quarter to take the lead for good. USC star JuJu Watkins had 22 points in that game as Kiki Iriafen and Kennedy Smith both scored 14. Indiana was led by Sydney Parrish, who had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Trojans and Hoosiers tip off Friday at 9 am PT in a game that will air on Big Ten Network.

Elsewhere in the tournament, Michigan beat Washington on Thursday to move into the quarterfinals against No. 4 Maryland. If USC beats Indiana on Friday, the Trojans will play the winners of the Wolverines – Terrapins on Saturday at 12 PT.
