The spring 2024 transfer portal opened on April 16 and the expectation, as always with the portal, is for significant movement across the college football landscape. This is the second portal window of the 2023-24 offseason, and here’s a look back at the USC transfer portal tracker for the first window, which included 22 departures and 11 new arrivals.

Here, we’re keeping track of the ins and outs over the next several weeks. This window will stay open between April 16 and April 30 for players to enter their names into the transfer portal. Players do not have to announce a commitment to a new school by April 30. They can enroll at their school of choice anytime between now and the start of classes for the next school year. But in order to maintain immediate eligibility, undergrads must declare their intention to enter the portal by April 30.

USC Departures

Isaiah Raikes

USC fans hardly got to know Isaiah Raikes, the 6-foot-1, 313-pound defensive lineman who showed up earlier this offseason as a transfer from Texas A&M. He’ll now head elsewhere and leave a fairly significant hole in the middle of that defense. Though, there is time for the Trojans’ coaches to fill it with another addition out of the portal. Raikes has since committed to Auburn.

Tre’Quon Fegans

Defensive back Tre’Quon Fegans turned into another short-term rental for the Trojans. He came to USC last offseason as a transfer from Alabama and got a bit of a slow start to his career with the Trojans due to injury. He ultimately played in six games in 2023, making nine tackles.

Jason Zandamela

True freshman early enrollee Jason Zandamela looked like the center of the future for the Trojans. But that won’t happen as he is now in the transfer portal after just a couple of short months at USC.

Stanley Ta’ufo’ou

Veteran defensive lineman Stanley Ta’ufo’ou was not on the USC spring roster but now enters the transfer portal as a grad transfer. He finished his four-year career with the Trojans with 55 tackles, including 7.5 for loss and one sack. He also recovered three fumbles and scored a touchdown on a fumble return.

Cooper Lovelace

Reserve offensive lineman Cooper Lovelace heads into the transfer portal after two seasons with the Trojans. He appeared in seven games as a backup lineman after coming in from Butler Community College.

Deijon Laffitte

Defensive lineman Deijon Laffitte announced his transfer from USC before ever playing in a game. The interior lineman wasn’t healthy for much of his first year in 2023 and will now leave the Trojans following spring ball.

Ceyair Wright

Ceyair Wright played in 30 games over three seasons with the Trojans but was not with the team for the last half of last season and did not appear on the 2024 spring roster.

Jaden Moore

Walk-on wide receiver Jaden Moore is in the portal after using a redshirt year as a true freshman in 2023. He did not see the field for the Trojans.

USC Additions

Greedy Vance

USC is on the board in the spring portal following the commitment of former Florida State and Louisville defensive back Greedy Vance. The Trojans got into the mix for Vance quickly and clearly saw a need to bring in a veteran nickel back. That spot opened a bit when Fegans went into the portal. USC had a few options that could have slid there behind returning starter Jaylin Smith, but the Trojans will bring in Vance, who totaled five starts last season and 39 appearances in three years with the Seminoles and Cardinals.
