There wasn't much variety in the way of difference-makers for the USC Trojans through the first half of the season. Outside of injuries, the same starting lineups on offense and defense typically took the field with a slight rotation on the defensive line or between having a tight end or four wide receivers. But head coach Lincoln Riley said coming into the season that late-season contributors could come from anywhere on the preseason depth chart. Late last week, Riley listed more than a handful of players who could be on the verge of big contributions as the Trojans get into the stretch run of the regular season.
