USC veteran wide receiver Kyron Hudson announced Thursday that he will enter the NCAA transfer portal as a grad transfer.

“Wearing the cardinal and gold has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I will always carry that pride with me,” Hudson posted to his X account. “With that, after much reflection, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer with one year of eligibility remaining. This decision is not made lightly, but I am confident that God has an exciting plan for me in this next chapter. I step forward with gratitude for my time at USC and anticipation for what lies ahead.”

Hudson finished the season third on the team with 38 receptions and, receiving yards and three touchdowns. He started the year with a bang, hauling in two highlight-reel catches in USC’s season-opening win against LSU. One was a leaping, twisting, one-handed grab down the middle of the field against coverage. The second was part of a game-winning drive when Hudson was able to pull in another one-handed grab down the sideline while absorbing a big hit that drew a targeting flag.

Hudson started nine games for the Trojans this season, including the season-finale against Notre Dame. Before that game, Hudson participated in the senior day tunnel walk, hinting that this decision could follow.

Hudson has been a veteran leader for the wide receiver group and the offense as a whole this season. It will be interesting to see whether he looks to land somewhere with former USC quarterback Miller Moss, who is in the transfer portal and looking for another school with which to spend his final year of eligibility.

Hudson finishes his USC career with 72 receptions for 807 yards and eight touchdowns.
