The Obvious: After spending Thanksgiving with the family in the beautiful beach city of San Clemente, Friday has returned the O/NSO to my normal morning eating ritual of a bowl of microwaved oat bran cereal, a couple of frozen toaster Eggo waffles, a banana, and thinking about this entire holiday week from a USC perspective of cardinal and gold thankfulness. The Not So Obvious: Yes, there are a lot of things for the O/NSO to be thankful for during these past 61 years of being a part of USC football in one capacity or another. It has truly been a lifetime. Some might even call the O/NSO’s passion for USC football an obsession in a good way. That being said, allow me to share some cardinal and gold thankfulness thoughts, and you can compare them with yours and mine. * I am thankful that I have witnessed many of the greatest USC college football players and coaches one can imagine. All the national and conference championships, the great All-America position players and, of course, the incredible traditions and passions. * I am thankful that I can stack the greatness of USC football history against Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Georgia, Texas,  Oklahoma, Florida State, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Sure, we’ve had a rough 2023 season, but the future will turn at some point because it always has.
