WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping news and notes surrounding USC Athletics. Today, we take a look at Lincoln Riley’s comments on Utah quarterback Cameron Rising, UCLA losing a big commit, and kicker Dennis Lynch’s outfits quickly going viral.

Riley on Rising

Utah quarterback Cameron Rising is a familiar face for Lincoln Riley and his staff. When he was in high school, Rising for a time was committed to play for Riley, who was then the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma. However, Rising eventually flipped his commitment to Texas, where he played for one season before transferring to Utah.

When speaking to the media on the Utes’ quarterback, Riley had high praise for his former commit.

Rising and Utah face off against Riley and the Trojans this Saturday night in Salt Lake City.

UCLA Loses a Commit

Despite notching their biggest win in years on Saturday, crosstown rival UCLA continues to struggle on the recruiting trail. Earlier this week, four-star running back Roderick Robinson II flipped his commitment from the Bruins to Georgia.

According to On3 Consensus, the San Diego native is the number 201 overall player and the number 13 running back in the class of 2023. With the loss of his commitment, UCLA’s recruiting class drops to 91st in the country. Teams currently ranked above the Bruins include hapless Colorado, Clay Helton‘s Georgia Southern, and Ivy League powerhouse Princeton.

Lynch’s Fits

USC’s Denis Lynch has been one of the country’s most consistent kickers thus far this season. The redshirt freshman has racked up 55 points through the Trojans’ first six games, good for first in the Pac 12.

However, it is what Lynch does before the games that has quickly made him a favorite among Trojan fans. The kicker is rapidly gaining acclaim for his creative pregame outfits.

Unfortunately for USC fans, the Trojans do not have another home game until November 5, so we will have to wait a little bit to see Lynch pull up to the Coliseum in style again.
