Dye Injury
USC’s win on Friday came with a cost, however. Late in the second quarter, top running back Travis Dye exited the game with a leg injury. Head coach Lincoln Riley later announced that the senior is out for the season, thus ending his college career.
Despite playing just ten games for the Trojans, Dye made a huge impact during his time at USC. The Oregon transfer quickly emerged as both a leader and a fan favorite, rushing for 884 yards and nine touchdowns in less than a full season of action. Prior to the injury, he was on pace to be USC’s first 1,000-yard rusher since Ronald Jones II in 2017.
Pac 12 Chaos
After the Trojans won on Friday night, USC fans were hopefully able to sit back, relax, and enjoy a stress-free day of college football. And what a day it was in the Pac 12, where chaos reigned.

Oregon coach getting NFL buzz
First, number 25 Washington went into Autzen Stadium and knocked off number six Oregon. With the Ducks’ loss, USC now controls its own destiny in the Pac 12; if USC beats UCLA next week, the Trojans will play in the Pac 12 Championship Game in Las Vegas on December 2.
Then, unranked Arizona traveled to the Rose Bowl and stunned number 12 UCLA. This means that every team in the conference other than USC now has at least two losses. In addition, the Pac 12 “circle of suck” is officially complete; every Pac 12 team now has a transitive win over every other school in the conference.
