WeAreSC On3 12/30/22: Disappointed Grinch, Mavs Game, and Oklahoma's Losing Season
WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping news and notes surrounding USC Athletics. Today, we take a look at defensive coordinator Alex Grinch meeting with the media ahead of the Cotton Bowl, the USC Football team attending a Dallas Mavericks game, and Oklahoma officially finishing 2022 with a losing record.
Disappointed Grinch
Yesterday, USC defensive coordinator Alex Grinch met with the media ahead of Monday’s Cotton Bowl against Tulane. Grinch made it clear that he is not satisfied with the Trojans’ defensive performance in 2022.
“The answer is not enough,” he said. “You’re charged with having a championship level defense at USC. You signed up for that.”
Grinch added that, “we played good enough defense 11 times. We didn’t play good enough defense two times. But I don’t take a lot of solace in that. We were expected to have a championship level defense, and we didn’t do that.”
