WeAreSC On3 2/17/23: Basketball Destroys Cal, Ludwig Staying at Utah, and Baseball Opening Day
WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping news and notes surrounding USC Athletics. Today, we take a look at USC Basketball blowing out Cal, Utah offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig turning down Notre Dame, and Opening Day for the Trojan Baseball team.
Basketball Destroys Cal
Last night, USC Basketball scored a 97-60 blowout win over hapless Cal. Drew Peterson led the Trojans’ dominant effort with a career-high 30 points.
The Trojans are back in action tomorrow night at Galen Center against Stanford. The game will tip off at 7:00 PM PST, and it will air on ESPNU.
Ludwig Staying at Utah
Last week, there were rumors that Notre Dame was set to hire Utah’s Andy Ludwig as its new offensive coordinator. However, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Ludwig will now be staying at Utah due to the Irish’s inability/unwillingness to pay his buyout. Notre Dame will reportedly instead promote tight ends coach Gerad Parker to offensive coordinator.
